What did you like about the course?

I really enjoyed the way the course helped me to engage with sport on a critical level. It gave me the opportunity to explore how sport can be used as a development tool and, how it fits into the wider framework of society. The seminar/lecture structure is fun and informative which made it easy to learn and, the teaching team were always on hand to help and very supportive, which made my undergraduate experience very enjoyable.

How did the course help you in your chosen profession?

The course helped me in my chosen profession as it enabled me to build a good foundation of knowledge to build upon throughout my MA and PhD. Since the beginning of university, it has been my aim to be involved in research and lecturing and, this course has given me all the skills I needed to be able to achieve this goal. The course helped me understand society, social theory and sport in a completely new way and, I have been able to use these skills in my own research. By doing this degree, I was prepared for any area of academic study because I was able to be creative and learn about many areas of sport and leisure. I am now completing my PhD in gender, sexuality and drag which shows that this course can lead down many exciting and interesting routes both in and out of sport.
