Introducing Rachel Gradwell

As Andrew’s appointments have been so busy, we have secured additional support from Rachel who is also an Employability Adviser within the Careers Service her at SHU.  Rachel has a lot of experience and will be happy to support you in making applications, developing your CV, preparing for interviews just as Andrew would.

Please book via UniHub– do not email Andrew or Rachel.

If you have booked an appointment and are unable to make it, please be considerate and cancel via UniHub, or drop Andrew or Rachel an email, so it can be released for another student to book.

Drop in Appointments

Andrew is offering drop-in appointments Saunders seating area between 11am and 1pm each Tuesday until Christmas.  First come, first served, max 20 minutes at busy times but should hopefully give a chance to answer any burning questions, or quick application/CV checks.


South Yorkshire Police: Becoming a Special or regular Police Constable
Monday 5 November 2pm-3pm – Main Building

Interested in a career with the Police? Come along to this informative talk about becoming a Police Special and/or a Police Officer.

Special Constables are volunteers who have the same powers as regular officers; wear the same uniform and are issued with the same protective equipment including handcuffs and baton. This is coupled with an understanding of the law and the teaching of various police procedures.

Our speaker will talk about his own varied career within the Police and the practicalities of applying for, and working, as a Special or regular constable.
