The aim of this module is to provide you with an understanding of the potential of sport coaching and mentoring skills to address a range of pressing social issues. It will help you to develop the skills needed to work with a diverse range of individuals and groups, using sport and physical activity as an engagement tool. The module will link underpinning theories around sport, community, mentoring and social formations and apply them to identifying and meeting the needs of varied communities. The module is an important step in developing your ability to apply theory to practice in a professional context, thus enhancing your future employability.
